Rich shades of cobalt, indigo and blue-green make a natural azurite cabochon the focal point of this one-of-a-kind mixed metal necklace.
The stone is set by hand in sterling silver and framed with a richly textured bronze backplate, giving the piece warmth and an old-world, slightly botanical character. A small bronze floral drop moves freely beneath the pendant.
The deep blue 3mm leather cord was chosen to complement the natural colors of the azurite without competing with them.. Rather than using commercial cord findings, the brass end-caps were indiviually fabricated and finished with sterling silver wire.
At the back, a handmade sterling silver clasp connects to textured sterling rings, with a tiny freshwater pearl dangle adding one final detail.
The reverse of the pendant bears the Sterling Pony Designs logo maker’s mark.
The necklace length is 18”, and the pendant (including the charm) is 2” in length, approxiamtely 1/2” wide.
The bronze, copper and brass have all received layers of protective clear coat to prevent future tarnish.
